Jay Godfrey has awakened our inner jungle with his Fall Winter 2016 collection. We see liveliness in his classic yet modern presentation. His slight retro touch brings out adored trends from the 1960s, as seen by his neck scarves, butterfly angel sleeves, thick winged black eyeliner and relaxed updos. Jay Godfrey is encouraging us to venture out into a radiant and rich color palette of forest green, fuchsia, lavender, and a mix between royal purple and eggplant. Showing a little shoulder is invigorating and sexy, as we glimpse at off-the-shoulder and strapless necklines. Gold accented lavender shirts come with classic French cuff and spread collars, and banded mini-flared skirts add a brilliant contrast to Godfrey’s floor-length gowns. Keeping femininity alive, Jay Godfrey’s flattering evening gowns incorporate asymmetrical architectural cutouts near the shoulders, chest, and abdomen, adding a sense of mystery.
Godfrey is steering clear from the classic pump this season, as he incorporates wedged two-toned booties to balance out the formality of his collection. In addition, there is a sense of preservation among designers this season for deep V-neck dresses and jumpsuits, as we see evident in Godfrey’s designs tonight! Looks like we have some shopping to do!
