Interview
Ripple Effect Designs is a creative collaboration between sisters Nina and Annie Giardinelli.
The rock that first began the Ripple was tossed 5 years ago when our Grandma passed on and we inherited her jewelry.
“My grandmother was a very giving person who had a great passion for travel. I felt that she would love to see her jewlery turned into something new and passed around the world so I took it apart and repurposed it for friends and family across the globe” ~Nina Giardinelli
The passion for upcycling was hence born and through the years the creative collaboration between Nina and Annie grew into this unique vision of clothing that attempts to blur the lines between functional and cosplay.
“We believe that everyday garb should be playful and colorful, the child in us all should always have a means to express its self and what better way to do so than through dress up? Every photoshoot we do is a canvass that gives room for each artist’s brush: the dress mights inspire the model to bring forth a certain emotion which in turn inspires the photographer to capture that emotion and thus art is born.”
